Our tradition of a monthly family dinner continued on Friday night when we went out to Lava Stone Grill in Mt Lawley.It was Tari's choice and after the meal she was praised up for her excellent choice of venue - although we believe it was recommended to her by her friend Sophie.
The meals are served pretty much as raw meat on a VERY hot piece of stone (approx 400 deg C). You then leave the meat there to cook for as long as you want on the retained heat in the stone.The wine was a lovely soft NZ Merlot.
We rated this place as one of the best that we've been to for quite a while.
